6-9-16Hey there Glen Summit Spring Water fans, it’s finally Thursday!  The week is almost over, and to celebrate, we have another set of water-based fun facts heading your way!

Did you know that over two thirds of all the fresh water on Earth are trapped in glaciers?  About 68% of all the fresh water on the planet is currently locked away in glaciers, floating around the North and South poles.  As the Earth gets warmer, the glaciers melt, forcing the crisp, fresh water to dissolve into the sea water, making it undrinkable.  While there are companies who are harvesting fresh glacier water, they are running out of time before the glaciers melt and dissolve.

While glacier water may appear to be some of the most pristine water you can drink, it lacks all of the vital nutrients that spring water contains.  Since spring water is subjected to natural filters, such as rocks, it picks up nutrients and minerals that are vital for human health, making you healthier just by drinking it.

We hope you have enjoyed this rendition of Factual Thursday.  Be sure to check back next week for another fun fact!

Enjoy your weekend, Glen Summit fans!
