Factual Thursday: Going by the Numbers

5-26-16Hey there Glen Summit Spring Water fans, it is time for another edition of Factual Thursday!  This week, we’re taking a look at the numbers of water.

Did you know that in the United States alone, the average family of four uses about 400 gallons of water per day?  The majority of this amount can be attributed to using the toilet, followed by the washing machine, and then the faucet.

On the topic of drinking water, a study done by the CDC found that only 43% of all Americans drink less than 4 cups of water per day.  The general rule is 8 cups per day, but this statistic clearly shows that we fall short.

However, one of the grand things about this situation is that we all have the power to change that statistic.  Both statistics, actually.  By being conscious of how much water you are using throughout the day and trying to cut down, and by noticing how much water you drink and making an effort to improve upon it, we can all change those statistics for the better.  Spring water is great, but there is only so much of it.  Together, we can provide an ample supply of fresh spring water, much like ours, to the future generation, while keeping ourselves properly hydrated.

That’s it for this edition of Factual Thursday.  Enjoy your weekend, and check back next week for another fun fact!
