The Truth on Vitamin Water

4-28-16Hey there, Glen Summit Spring Water fans! With this workweek coming to a close, we thought we would do something a little special with you, and get to the bottom of Vitamin Water, and see how it stacks up against our spring water.

Vitamin water, for those who do not know, is a water infused with many vitamins and nutrients vital for human health, added with sweeteners and syrup for taste.  Now, it is common knowledge that sweeteners ans syrup are bad for one’s health, but the grand debate is whether or not the infused vitamins cancels out the negative effects of the syrups.

To that extent, we say no.  The vitamins that are added into Vitamin Water, like B12 and C, can be obtained in several different ways throughout the day–they are abundant in many things you eat.  All you are left with is sugars and processed syrups for flavor, which are known to dehydrate the body instead of hydrate.

In our research, we found that the best thing you can drink, whether it be after working out or on a weight-loss plan, is fresh, spring water.  Spring water, not purified, has natural nutrients and minerals found in Vitamin Water, but without all the other additives that block up the hydration-flow.  So the next time you need to replenish your system, instead of grabbing that bottle of Vitamin Water, opt for the label that says “Glen Summit Spring Water” instead; your body will undoubtedly return the favor.
