stay hydratedHydration is an important aspect of daily life, no matter what line of work you are in or your level of physical activity.  We all need water, and we all need to stay hydrated!  So to make things simple, we have provided a few quick tips on how to stay properly hydrated throughout the day.

  1. Start early.  Sometimes, it pays off to skip the coffee, and jump-start your body with a cold glass of water.  With an empty stomach, water will get through your body faster, properly hydrating yourself in the process.
  2. Flavor.  Yes, water can be boring, but it doesn’t have to be that way.  Throw in some fruit into your water, like lemon, watermelon, orange, or any fruit of your choosing.  You can even look up infused-water recipes online to not only make water taste better, but to add antioxidants to your drink as well.
  3. Invest in a cool drinking container.  No, seriously.  If you have a stylish container that you can show off at work, you will be more likely to carry that around with you, and by abstention, carry your water around with you.  The more often you have your water with you, the more likely you are to drink it, and therefore, stay hydrated.
  4. Keep track of your progress.  Find a method to keep track of how many glasses of water your drink throughout the day.  An average person should be shooting for 8.  One method to keep track is to take 8 rubber bands, and place them around your cool drinking container.  Every time you go to refill, take a band off.  Once your container has no more bands left, then you are hydrated for the day!

See, drinking water doesn’t have to be a chore, it can actually be fun.  Start a game with your kids or co-workers on hydration, or challenge your family to stay properly hydrated for a week.  Should you be lacking any natural spring water for your hydration game, just remember that Glen Summit Spring Water is here for all your spring water needs!
