Our spring water is nothing short of refreshing, but depending on how you choose to store our water, you can get an even better flavor out of it. Sure, placing your case of water around the house does not take much effort, but it is the spot in which you place it that truly counts. Join us today, as we give you some simple tips for bottled water storage!
Ideally, you are going to want to store your bottled water somewhere in the house that is out of the sunlight, but also away from any other contaminants that you do not want in your water. Since the plastic in bottles are relatively thin, it creates spaces in which particles and sift into the bottle, contaminating the water. Try your best to keep water out of the garage, and into the pantry instead.
In addition, be sure that your water is stored at room temperature of somewhere slightly cooler than that. If you want to put it in a cooler or a refrigerator, then by all means go ahead, but keep it out of the heat. Particles in the plastic can sink into your water with the help of heat (and sunlight), turning your bottled of fresh spring water into a stale liquid that tastes like plastic.
However, be sure that you do not store your water for too long. Although it is in bottles, the general shelf life for water bottles is about 1-2 years. Anything past that is likely to be stale, thanks to the porous qualities of the bottle and cap. Change out anything past that—you’ll thank yourself later.
Spring water is extremely refreshing, but it is the way in which you store it that really makes a difference.
